On the island, it's everywhere, an integral part of the landscape, almost unavoidable. However, it's also one of the most difficult subjects to offer fresh perspectives, as it's easy to show only what is immediately visible, expected, already seen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eFor this image, I didn't want to photograph the marsh as an end in itself. I considered it as a means. I waited for one of those rare moments when the wind completely dies down. When the water stops rippling, the surface becomes silent. At that precise instant, the marsh becomes a mirror.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e In its reflection, the sky appeared differently, a sunset sky crossed by contrasting and colorful clouds suspended above the water's surface. The marsh no longer spoke of salt, earth, or human labor. It spoke of the sky. At that moment, it was no longer a salt marsh, but a \u003ci\u003esky-bound\u003c\/i\u003e marsh!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e This reversal struck me. It reminded me that landscape is not only what we look at, but also how we are willing to shift our perspective. Sometimes, understanding the world simply requires looking elsewhere.
